GREAT NEWS FROM THE HOME FRONT

Our friend (and neighbor!) Matt came home from the hospital...and was able to come home for a visit today! It was such a blessing to see him. God is so good! We are continuing to pray that the transplant has worked, and that he will continue to gain strength, energy, and have no pain, and best of all to be HEALED! It has been such a gift to watch the process, and he and his wife Jackie have shown so much faith and perseverence.

Please continue to pray for Matt and Jackie in this process as they cotninue to wait for ongoing news about the success of the transplant, wait for Matt to get healthier again, and best of all wait to come home to their four kids!

Today was a great day...a true gift!

(My camera cord was left at church for V.B.S., so pictures will be coming soon of our past week!)

soccer camp!

Last week was CRAZY! Kathryn had soccer camp every day from 1-4 and then we had Vacation Bible School from 6-8:30, with dinner before.

The soccer camp was great! Kathryn learned a lot, and five of the six players from her team were able to attend. I even got a couple of ideas to use in my classroom next year! It was a great week!

Boating or not?

So, we decided to go on a family boat trip today. We packed up all the stuff, water bottles, snacks, life jackets, crab bait, fishing poles, etc. We loaded in the truck and headed out. We all eagerly jumped into the boat, (well, Kaelyn wasn't quite so eager), and we headed away from the dock.

I noticed it was a little bumpy, but not too bad. Most of you who know me, know that I'm pretty much a chicken, and definitely get motion sick easily. Well, we were cruising along in the no wake zone. (I love to watch Tim while he's driving the boat, it truly is his element!).

We got about ten minutes out or so, when suddenly we were in white caps. There was a ton of boat traffic, and lots of waves. I was suddenly white knuckling it, and Tim informed me I needed to take Kaelyn up front with me so that he could stand up to drive.

I grabbed her, and we were holding on to each other. We started really bumping, and Tim was trying hard to assure us that this was fun, and that the boat was fine! Kaelyn and I weren't terribly convinced, but we held on. Soon, waves were breaking against the boat and crashing over the top. Kathryn started to scream, which sent Kaelyn and I into panic. (Kathryn usually loves this stuff, and so when she started freaking out, it was worse!)

All of us screamed with each bump, and Tim tried in vain to assure us we would be fine.

Before long, we decided to turn back. We cruised back in the back of a larger boat's wake, and that was great!

We headed back in, with Kathryn and I soaking wet, but safe and sound. As we slowly cruised back, Kaelyn kept saying, "Look at me! I'm brave!" She would let go of my leg for a second, and smile! I was hoping my kids wouldn't be a chicken like me, but Kaelyn may be headed that direction! Let's hope not!

I was VERY thankful that Tim could laugh about the whole thing as he told his friend about it on the phone. He has a patient side to him that I appreciate a lot! He has assured us he won't be taking us out in the bay again in that boat...he is definitely adding to his arguments for a bigger boat...we'll see!

I guess if nothing else, it was a memory right? We weren't even out long enough for me to take a picture!
