My New Project this year...

I'm attempting a Project 365...you can check it out in my blog roll.  I am kind of enjoying looking for the memories in the simple gifts of each day...we'll see if I can make it!

We are thankful for the sacrifice and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Kaelyn was proud of her drawing of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  I think she did a pretty good job!  :)

When I think of the dream of Martin Luther King, I am filled with gratitude and awe.  I am thankful that he was willing to believe in the good in people, and expect it from others.  I am thankful that he was willing to give others vision when they had none. I am thankful that he gave many a voice that were silenced.

His dream is more than just about equal rights.  His dream is about the belief that we are ALL created in the image of God. That all of us our knit together and fearfully and wonderfully made.  God created us in His image.  And thankfully, Martin was willing to embrace that truth and try to bring our nation back to ONE nation UNDER God.

I am thankful for the chance to teach my students AND my children about Martin Luther King Jr.  I am hopeful that they too will find the power in vision, the power in dreams, and the power in embracing God's purpose for their lives.

I am thankful.  I have a dream...

Seahawks versus the Bears

We were excited to cheer the Seahawks on again...hoping for another surprising victory!  It wasn't in the cards...but we enjoyed our time anyway!

My aunt has a tradition that she has brought to our home of "eating your opponent".  She researches food from the area, and then cooks it.  This time we had "Chicago Dogs" and "bear" cookies.    We had a great meal even though the game was a little painful to watch...at least the first half!

Hoping for the time to CHEER!

Go Seahawks!

These girls LOVE this Aunt E.

Kaelyn's Chuck E. Cheese Party!

I have a SIX year old!  Oh my!  She told me this morning that she was six now...Wow!  True, it's still a few days away, but it was CELEBRATION time!  She was thrilled to go there--because she wanted to do the Ticket blaster and get the inflatable crown!  She really seemed to enjoy every minute!

Our 6 year old cowgirl!

Goofy friends!

Love it!  Notice the matching boots and hats...they are so precious!

Proud of her ticket catch from the Ticket Blaster!  We'd highly recommend the "catch it in the hat" method!
