Easter Eggs and Cookies on Good Friday

We had our annual Easter Egg dyeing and Cookie decorating event and Erica's house.  This year we were blessed to have Aunt Shirley, mom, Erica, Karen, Jadon, the girls and me together.  We had a great time!  It's amazing how fast little kids can plow through three dozen eggs and six dozen cookies!

The Tie-Dyed eggs were our favorite this year!

After the decorating, Karen and Jadon set us up for a Good Friday service...being married to a Lutheran Pastor, she felt a little guilty about be with us instead of at church, so we spent time reenacting the scene.

I am quite sure that our "service" was quite all right in the sight of the Lord, and very memorable for all of us who were involved.

Have you ever watched your seven year old be Jesus, and die next to you on the cross?  It was a memory I will not soon forget.  And my five year old was the criminal next to Jesus who asked to be with him in paradise.  It was heartwrenching yet beautiful at the same time.

Jadon was the narrator, and doubled as a bit of a stage manager as well.

The kids had a litte intermissions where they had a chance to shake thier booties!  It wasn't all somber and sad!  We were celebrating that Easter is comin'!

Mom helped Jesus carry the cross.

Aunt Shirley was the Rock (Peter!). She thought she was going to be the tomb rock, but she actually was the part of Peter.  :)

Guess who has a loose tooth? (Well...2 actually!)

What a silly girl!

She had to hold her head still to see if it was really wiggly!

Yes, it's true!  In fact there are two wiggly teeth!  She must really be five huh?

She wasn't too sure about having a loose tooth, but mommy can't believe she's old enough to have one!

Kathryn's Cartwheel

Kathryn has been working hard to do a cartwheel.  Tonight she wanted it videotaped.  We're giving it a shot....

Can you believe it's been 20 years????

I had the blessing of spending last weekend with my "girls" (although we missed Jennifer!).  We headed to Bellingham to spend time rejuvinating at a beautiful house on Lake Whatcom.  Some wonderful people allowed us to spend the weekend at their home.  We were blessed.

During the weekend we kept thinking...Can you believe it's been 20 years?

20 years since I met some of the closest friends in my life!
20 years since I embarked into the crash course into adulthood, also known as college!
20 years since I learned what it meant to be independent.
20 years since I learned how to live for Jesus.
20 years since we embarked on a little town called Bellingham!

Cristi and I walked around campus--I LOVE that place!  I said, "Do you think we stand out?"  I kept wondering if the newbies around could tell that it had been 20 years since we were there are freshmen embarking on a journey to a job, to adulthood!  It was so fun!

We visited our old Nash Hall, reminisced as we stopped by La Casa Fea--our great little house on N Forest, went to the Bagelry for lunch and spent time at Boulevard Park and other spots on the beach.

We were blessed with lovely warm weather, Twilight movies til 2:30am, and a day in jammies til 1:00 working on our digital scrapbooks.

Hang helped us by playing "tour guide" a little since she still lives in Bellingham, but it was so great to spend time amidst friends who know me best, and still love me!

We had good food, good times, and a blessed weekend!

It was a gift!  Not only a gift of a day, but a gift of a weekend!

20 years of blessings--and more to come!

I can't wait until next year!
