Our church had a harvest party at local farm. There were hay rides, hot dogs and smores! We had a great time! We even saw a coyote running across the field outside of the gate. Kathryn was a little spooked, but I thought it was cool...I'd never seen one before!

POWER WHEELS

Kathryn got a Barbie Jeep for her birthday. The kids have had a BLAST with it this summer and fall, so much so, that one of the wheels just cracked. We got it replaced last weekend, and then Tesa (our neighbor) got a Barbie Jeep for her birthday too. Dustin had the wheels fixed on his Hummer, and so now there's quite a caravan in the cul de sac...Oh to be a kid again! There's room for everyone now!
A Halloween Surprise

My Aunt from California is WONDERFUL about sending gifts to my kids for each holiday. She is particularly good at picking out special books that they love. Well...she did it again. She sent Kaelyn a Cheerios Halloween counting book which she LOVES! Kathryn received an I SPY book too, and we've all had fun with that one. I even got in on the fun with a darling candy corn hand towel. Thanks Aunt Shirley!

The Caterpillars are Here!
The caterpillars have arrived. The kids are having a blast finding them everywhere. I think on Friday they had collected about 6 or 7 of them at one house and 5 at another. It's so fun to watch Kaelyn get so excited when she finds one! This one was spotted on the way into church this morning. As I was taking a picture of Kathryn, Kaelyn snuggled in so cute! I love my kids!
We've Been Boo'd!
Well, in our neighborhood, to be boo'd means that someone has left a special Halloween basket on your porch filled with goodies. My kids were THRILLED! Kathryn especially was so excited to fill the basket and boo the next neighbor. It's taken off a little, and we've actually been boo'd four times now in one way or anther, but it's been fun!
The Pez was a particularly exciting addition to the basket for our girls, and I had forgotten how nasty that candy actually is. :)
It's funny to me how so many things seemed so different when I was little!

Kathryn's Prayer Tonight
Tonight as we were getting ready for bed, Kathryn prayed the following prayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for our family. Thank you for the wonderful time at school. Thank you that I get to go to school. I don't like the boring homework though. I pray that Mrs. Yates wouldn't give us any homework anymore. Thank you God. In Jesus' name, Amen.
So much for being excited about homework at the beginning of school. I 've actually come to enjoy working on it with her!
Fast forward about ten minutes. Both kids are in bed. Kathryn is asleep and Kaelyn has been yelling for me. She has become notorious for getting out of bed. It was finally quiet, and Tim then says, "Can you turn the lights off?" Kaelyn pipes up with: "What daddy?" He repeated the question, and Kaelyn said, "I can't. Mommy says I can't get out of bed!" Good Job Roo! I hope she continues to heed her own advice and stay in bed!
