Happy Birthday to my Dad

We spent the day heading out to the lake on the boat. My dad would have loved it! We sent a balloon to heaven, sand "Happy Birthday", and then cruised around the lake.





(I did manage to take a swim when the boat shifted left off of the trailer when we launched, and I was trying to rescue it from the cement! Yes, I was cold, but we did have a great time!) Kaelyn even managed to let go of my hands and stand by herself when while we were tethered to the dock!

I Lost Another Tooth!

Kathryn lost her third tooth while spending the night at my mom's house last night. She was so excited! This one feels like a true loss because last time her other teeth were already up so there wasn't any hole.
Her top teeth have been loose for a while, but for some reason this one fell out first. The top ones don't really even seem as loose any more! Go Figure!

Valentine's Day

We all celebrated Valentine's early at school due to mid-winter break. Aunt Shirley sent the girls cute tee shirts, and Tim got them each a movie. I love my beautiful red roses! Kaelyn said, "That's the most beautiful shirt in the whole world!" The giraffes have little gems around them. She loved it!



Today Kaelyn and I were both home sick, so Tim took Kathryn fishing and they caught three more beuts!

Fishing!

Tim decided to go fishing today. He took Kathryn and Dustin with him. Kathryn was unsure of whether she wanted to go when she realized there was no bathroom, but she called me a few minutes ago, and was having a blast! She said that they had caught two HUGE fish. They are as big as my nightstand mom! Then suddenly she yelled..we're getting another one! I could hear Tim say, "Get you rod!" Then the phone went dead. I guess I'll have to wait til they get home to see if they got a third big fish! Pics. will follow!













Kathryn was not happy about holding the fish! But, after offering to pay her a buck for a good picture, I think we got some cute ones! Good thing that saving money is suddenly important to her! Tim has a picture from when he was little of him holding a big fish too!
This fish was probably about a 4 or 5 pound trout, and was 24 inches long! That is a huge trout to come out of a lake!

They really had a blast! I'm so glad!

Missing My Dad

Well, it's been three years since my dad went to be with the Lord. I miss him a lot, especially in the simple things like birthday parties, asking for advice, (and directions!), and just hanging out. I am very thankful for the years I did have with him, and that he got to love my girls. I'm thankful that they still remember and talk about him.

It's amazing how many times he still impacts my life today. For that, I'm thankful.

One of the things I learned from him while he was sick was to deal with the what is, and not the what if. It's such a profoud idea, and really helps an anxiety prone person like me!

Against the Log

Kaelyn came up to me today and said,
Mommy, what does it meant to be against the log?

I said, I don't know. What do you mean?

Well...I was watching a police show and I want to know what against the log means.

Oh, you mean against the LAW.

Yeah, that's what I said. Against the log.

Try to explain against the law to a 4 year old!
