The Big Catch

Tim took Kathryn fishing today in another derby. She called me at around 10:00 to tell me that she caught a big fish, but it was stolen by a sea lion! Apparently as she was reeling it in, two sea lions stole it off of the line and broke the leader. Tim describes quite a story of struggle, and Kathryn decided she would call 911 to report to the police that her fish had been stolen by sea lions!

The day was great for her, much better than our last excusion! She even got to see Papa's new puppy which was with him and Tony on their boat...that was definitely a highlight for her! She also won a basket of treats at the derby which she was happy about as well!

A Cute little memory

We had some friends coming over to our house a few weeks ago who hadn't been here before. Kathryn decided to make some signs to help them out. She decided though that she should just write the "initials" for the rooms. So, Kaelyn and her room said, KH. Tim and my room said, MDH. This is what she had on the bathroom...

Derby Success!

Tim was fishing in the weekend salmon derby this weekend! He suprised us with this picture via my cell phone this morning! Nice work Tim!

The First Day of School 2008

Last Wednesday was a big day for all four of us! We all started new schools! Tim is now teaching math at the middle school, Kathryn and I are together at our new elementary, and Kaelyn started preschool! It was rather hectic around here, but although it was a very rough week for me, we are all beginning to get into a routine.

A Proud Mama!

Kathryn has been so happy to go to school so far. I'm so thankful. She loves first grade! It's been fun for me to experience it through her eyes, and to see what's important, like being the Lucky Duck! Yesterday I asked her what she did. She has never been at a loss for words, but yesterday she said, We did LITERACY! I had to smile to myself. What a word at six! I'm really proud of her!

Matt

Our dear friend Matt passed away on Thursday after a tough fight with leukemia and a bone marrow transplant. I am so sad. Please pray for Jackie, Dustin, Tesa, Taylor, and Jordyn as they move forward in life without their precious husband and daddy. Keep Matt's and Jackie's parents and families in your prayers as well. I am so thankful to have known Matt. He was a man of integrity, and a friend to all. He will be so missed. Although I am thankful that he is now disease free, the weight of sorrow is so deep. He passed away at 3:16pm. What a reminder! For God so loved Matt(and us all!) that He gave his only Son, that whosoever believe in Him will not perish, but have ETERNAL LIFE! Praise God for the hope of heaven amidst the sadness of the world.

I will miss you Matt!
