Kathryn lost her first tooth tonight! She was stunned, and so was I. She never liked wiggling it, and when I asked to see it, she jerked away, and it popped out! She was very excited. I can't believe it's been five years since this little toth popped in, and now it popped back out!! AMAZING! My baby is definitely growing up!

Jesus Must be Hungry
We headed to the park after dinner tonight, and Kaelyn was walking next to me hand in hand. She said, "My dinner's coming into my heart right now. I can feel it in my throat."
Then she continued,
"The dinner's going to Jesus. He must be really hungry. He can eat as much of my dinner as he wants. It's going into my heart with Him." After he's full, then he can just have a drink too. O.k. mommy?"
"Sure sweetheart." I said, amidst a grin. "I'm sure Jesus is happy with His dinner."
I love listening to her trying to assimilate everything in such a sweet and simple way.

Spring Fever
Yes, I've got it really bad! I sat outside watching my kids play at the park behind our house tonight. It was about 70 degrees at 7:00 still, and gorgeous. I can't wait for summer. But, as I refelcted, I watched my kids and wondered where the time has gone.
Kathryn skipped bars across the monkey bars tonight and competed with Dustin to see who could swing the highest. She complained of her front tooth hurting and when I peered into her mouth, I saw two GROWN UP TEETH pushing out the baby ones on the bottom. She just went to the dentist last Monday, and they weren't there, and now they're up and pushing...I can't believe my baby is getting grown up teeth. She is not excited to pull them out, but is VERY excited awaiting the visit from the tooth fairy. (Apparently one of her friends lost a tooth and the tooth fairy forgot to come...Major problem!) I wonder what the going rate for teeth is this year??
Anyway, we get out of school two months from today...and counting!
Spring fever? Yes, we've got it bad!

It is Well...With My Soul
There has been a lot of heart ache around me lately. Sorrow, frustration, fear, sadness. And yet, there is joy! Easter is about finding hope in the darkness, and light in despair. I am thrilled with our new pastor. He is spirit-filled, enthusiastic, compassionate, a leader, and excited!
I was so moved yesterday as I was part of a bone marrow drive in honor of my friend Matt. Over 120 people came to register for the national bone marrow registry. Many of the people there had only heard about Matt and his family through emails, flyers at coffee stands, and bulletins at churches. Many came after reading a newspaper article about him...that's compassion. That's being willing to change a life. I looked at the people who worked alonside me, excited to be part of somthing so much bigger than us. I watched with joy and with awe as my friend widowed only one week came to register in hopes of finding a match for someone even after losing her own husband.
Love is action. Love is powerful. It is well with my soul.
