WORN OUT!

I am officially worn out! I always get tired getting ready for school to start, but this year with a new job, in a new district, in a new building, with a new staff, with a new grade span, in a newly remodeled room with new curriculum and a new principal, I can officially say that I am overwhelmed! I finally got currculum yesterday, and desks today! Yeah!

Tim has also started a new job, so that's added additional stress for both of us. Thank goodness my mom is here to rescue us! She has been watching the kids, and even cooked us dinner tonight! Thanks mom. What a blessing!

I am expecting a busy September as things start to be not so new!

You're my MOMMY!

Tonight Kathryn was reading me a book before bed. I love this time with her one on one. We were talking about our new school. She said, "Do you think my teacher will have this book in her room?" I said, "I don't know. Maybe." Then she said she's a little nervous about a new school. I told her that I was too! But it will be fun because I'll be right across the hall from her classroom.

She got a huge smile on her face. Then she said. "Yeah!!! Then when I line up I can say, "HI MOMMY!" She continued to smile to herself, and I could tell how thankful my baby is that I will be there. I have to admit I am thrilled that she will be there with me too!

I said, "Do you think you'll have to call me Mrs. Holland?" She said, "NO! You're My MOMMY!"

That's true Bug! I'm so glad!

A Day at the Fair

Tim took my kids to the fair today with his dad. They had a blast. (I got to go to work since I'm in a new district and am a new teacher!). They liked going on the pony ride and the carousel butthe big rides were too much.

As a token gift, they brought me this huge button with their pictures. I love it! The picture is a little blurry because it had too much glare, but it was cute!

A Day at the Pool

Can you hear me now??

As many of you know, Kaelyn's hearing has been a bit of a question for the past few months. I had been putting off a checkup assuming we'd be to the dr. at some point for something. Well, when we were driving in the car the other day and she asked me to turn on the radio when it was already on, I decided to schedule with the audiologist. Surprise! She was moderately deaf in both ears! UGH! I felt horrible!

So...we went to the dr. so that they could clean her ears out and check for infection. It took fifteen mintues to clean out each ear, and it was NASTY! Well, after that, she looked at me and said, "My voice sounds funny mommy!" Then she said, "Mommy, you're talking so loud!" She said, "Listen to my shoes! They squeak!" I was shocked!

The next day in the bathroom, she started crying and covering her ears because the shower was too loud!

Well, she can hear me now!

A Day at the Pool

Kathryn continues to do a great job swimming this year! Today she jumped off of the diving board, and then swam the length of the pool! I was so proud of her! Great job Bug! I know that video isn't great, we were using the digital camera, so this is what we get!

Time with Old Friends

We had a mini reunion with some of our old friends from church. We hadn't seen them since Kathryn and their daugther Hallie were babies. In fact, Kathryn was six weeks old! We had a b.b.q. and bonfire. It was great to spend time catching up! It's always fun to reunite with old friends!

Pico De Gallo Anyone!

I LOVE pico de Gallo. At my friend's party a couple of weeks ago we had a great one! I tried to replicate it last weekend at home, and I have to admit it was pretty good! I was told the secret ingredient was lime, but I think it is the combination of salt and lime...who knows! Anyway, I even got a thumbs up from Kaelyn my tomato girl

A Fun Day At the BEACH!

With the temps. soaring this week, and time off, we headed to the beach! The girls had a blast swimming, building sand castles, playing with friends and of course visiting with Auntie! The ice cream was a big hit! In fact, that evening we had gelato too...the first time my kids have had two ice cream cones in one day!
