Her nails are like Samson's hair!

Kathryn had to have her nails cut tonight due to a little entanglement with her sister.  OH MY!  She was soooo angry!  She thought they were ugly and looked terrible!!  She would not let me cut her very longest one.  I was so surprised. She was really grieving the loss of her nails.  She said that she got asked all the time if they were fake!!

She has strong, long nails...and they can be daggers!  So...they are now short and trim.  She wants them long right now!  Poor thing.  Live and learn I suppose!!

School is in the Air....

Supplies,
Shoes.
Prepping til midnight....
Shoes, for everyone!
Clothes.
Finishing summer fun.
Bulletin boards and plan books.
Change it up or keep in sane....
Back to reality.  Back to my passion. Back to stress.
School is in the Air.  Can you tell?
Back to school night.
Kids ready to learn.
Kids excited and nervous and cautious and not.
Kids ready to see friends and meet new teachers.
Back to a new routine.  Is that possible?
Early mornings.
Packing lunches.  Packing backpacks. Packing the car.  Packing too much in!
Ready to reconnect, reinvent, reconvene, reinvest, restart, remember, retry and redo.
Homework...to be sent and to be completed at home.
7th grade, 3rd grade, 3rd grade kindergarten.
My kids, my class, my class, my kids.

School is in the air.  It truly is!

Long Beach Memories...The Summer Finale

We had a wonderful trip to Long Beach. It was great to get away as summer's last hurrah and as the beginning of school looms.   We had a great time experience God's creation.  I love the beach.  I grew up going to the ocean, so in many ways, the beach feels like summer to me.  (I don't love it that you have to watch for cars on this beach, but other than that I love it!)

Tate was along for the trip--and clearly exhausted!
BEAUTIFUL!

Kathryn and I made a slug bug.  She was eager to be finished...so I had to let go of the vision of my childhood where we were the sand masters...and let her be happy sitting in her own sand bug!  She was quite proud!

I could barely stand in it on one foot!
She looks so grown up in this picture

This is the resort we stayed in. It was perfect!
Love him!
My self portrait..
Tim's big catch!

Precious girls!
Monster Marshmallows....ewwww!!

These are some of my favorite memories of the beach!  Until next year...
