Easter Eggs and Cookies on Good Friday

We had our annual Easter Egg dyeing and Cookie decorating event and Erica's house.  This year we were blessed to have Aunt Shirley, mom, Erica, Karen, Jadon, the girls and me together.  We had a great time!  It's amazing how fast little kids can plow through three dozen eggs and six dozen cookies!

The Tie-Dyed eggs were our favorite this year!

After the decorating, Karen and Jadon set us up for a Good Friday service...being married to a Lutheran Pastor, she felt a little guilty about be with us instead of at church, so we spent time reenacting the scene.

I am quite sure that our "service" was quite all right in the sight of the Lord, and very memorable for all of us who were involved.

Have you ever watched your seven year old be Jesus, and die next to you on the cross?  It was a memory I will not soon forget.  And my five year old was the criminal next to Jesus who asked to be with him in paradise.  It was heartwrenching yet beautiful at the same time.

Jadon was the narrator, and doubled as a bit of a stage manager as well.

The kids had a litte intermissions where they had a chance to shake thier booties!  It wasn't all somber and sad!  We were celebrating that Easter is comin'!

Mom helped Jesus carry the cross.

Aunt Shirley was the Rock (Peter!). She thought she was going to be the tomb rock, but she actually was the part of Peter.  :)
